Question by eguru: Could someone quickly introduce WordPress for me? I’m confused what is free and what is not free there?
I don’t wanna pay for it because blogger is free but I want to have one blog on wordpress however I am confused about what is free and what is not. Such as some themes are free but customizing them is not free?

You can have a “free” WordPress blog @ wordpress.com. It comes with the basic theme available and a few plugins. The terms of service for wordpress.com limit you to non-commercial personal use of the blog and expressly forbid you from using it for profit (and yes they have closed down accounts for it)
Blogger is also “free” and although they do allow some use of Google AdSense blogger is also not intended for commercial use.
The biggest drawback in either situation is that you DO NOT own any of your content. In the end on either format they can shut your site down without warning anytime they want. Although in both case you can move your content to a format you do own you can not do so if your site has been deemed to have broken the TOS and shut down.
On the other hand WordPress hosted on your own hosting account is free to use with no restrictions. This version of WP comes from wordpress.org (although in most cases your host provider will already have it ready for you to install for free as a part of your host account) From there you will find that there are literally thousands of free themes to choose from as well as a whole lot of paid ones should you need. With a hosted WP you can install and use any plugin you want and you will find that there is pretty much a plugin that will do anything you are looking for.
Hope that helps a little!

Issue by gbqueen81: Can a person reveal how (or if it can be possible) to add my personal theme to a WordPress website? Study total description.?
I have began a blog site with WordPress and it is hosted free of charge from the WordPress site. None of the themes offered genuinely give me what I need to have or want. I have discovered some on sites presenting free zipfiles that contains WordPress themes which provide what I need to have to have on my weblog. Can I use these? If so, how do I go about it? I have go through articles about employing an FTP server, etc. and have downloaded FileZilla but I have no idea how to get it to connect to the remote server or what my remote server is! Needless to say I am an amateur and need to have somebody to reveal this things to me as if I am a five 12 months previous child. 🙂
Okay, so if I use WordPress.org, how do I figure out my remote server? I know I need to appear like a real idiot, but I have no thought.
So I’ve found a internet hosting web page and have downloaded WordPress. I have gotten into my WordPress web page, but now when I try to upload the zip file with the theme I want it arrives back with an error stating that WordPress can’t locate /wp-content material/. I have checked my FTP server and the file is surely there, so what am I performing wrong?

well there are two wordpress weblogs one particular is wordpress.com the other is wordpress.org.
the difference is wordpress.com has totally free and shell out accounts which with the free accounts you are constrained to the themes they decide on.
with wordpress.org you have you can pick your very own themes im positive and I believe its totally free but you need to understand how to set up it to your computer and setup and transfer your files via the remote server.
