Top 10 Best Web Hosting Reviews – SCAMS EXPOSED

Are "HOST REVIEW" sites honest? Are they unbiased, impartial, and factual... or are they just after your money? How does a hosting company get on the "top 10" list? Amazingly most hosting reviews websites have one thing in common: They are getting paid by hosting companies for reviews (either directly in the form of advertising or indirectly via affiliate commissions) -- making their reviews extremely biased, one-sided, and highly questionable in terms of accuracy. They all promote the same group of companies. The reason that the same hosting companies always make it to the "top" of the hosting comparison charts is because those companies, one way or another, pay to be listed there. These hosts include Host Monster, Blue Host, Lunar Pages, IX Webhosting, InMotionHosting, StartLogic, Host Pappa, Pow Web, etc. It's a well-known fact web hosting companies running their affiliate programs through Commission Junction offer among the highest affiliate commissions in the hosting industry. Thus "clever" PPC (pay per click) affiliate marketers decided: why not create websites with "top web hosting companies" lists and list these companies as "top"? Hosting company reviews seldom base their "rating" on their quality of service (although many claim to). Instead, most of them rate a webhost on the *size* of the affiliate commission. Those web hosts offering the highest commissions usually get the top spots -- because those hosting companies pay the most money. So the next time you're ...

@BarbieRetiree CNET is a great source for tech information and articles, but beware of their forums. They are poorly moderated and moderators seldom respond when inaccurate or flame/hate speech is reported nor do they seem proactive when it comes to removing obviously false posts.

Anyone can post a review on CNET, but there is very little oversight. Get your tech info from CNET, but if you want honest hosting reviews CNET is not the place (in my opinion).

I want to complain this company call Webshaper or neowave who sells shopping cart. Their shopping cart is so cheapskate.

The functionality of their cart is not user-friendly.
Certain common features are missing. When I ask them about it, they said is in future enhancement plans.
Any small inquiries or favor from their service, they will ask you to upgrade to more expensive package.

I got cheated by their demo cart. Screw them.

  3. BarbieRetiree says:

    Thanks for this video!

What do you think about CNET’s hosting reviews? It seems like they might be, at least, partially honest?? What’s your opinion?

  4. reviewsexposed says:

I don’t recommend any particular host in order to maintain the objectivity of the video.

What about everybody else? Have you had a problem with a particular web host? Get taken in by a fake hosting reviews site?

    Share your stories here.

  5. Conceptskatemedia says:

@goldduo You certainly should have been refunded for the remainder of your time.

  6. Conceptskatemedia says:

@tritongre 3) That would probably be an issue with Fantastico and not the host. They have no control over how the script works.

  7. Conceptskatemedia says:

@llwyth Wait you’re saying people who pay for web hosting are getting scammed? Free hosting is unreliable and slow. Paid hosting is the way to go but make sure you don’t choose a host that oversells. For example godaddy.

  8. orderyourname says:

I was searching for “Best Web Host” and “Hosting Reviews” and “Best Host” and all of that and I came across your video, Best Web Hosting Reviews.

Thanks so much for this. I had no idea hosting companies were cheating people by making fake “hosting reviews” sites.

Still, I don’t know who the best web host is. Do you have any suggestions? How do I find the best host?

  9. gabar47 says:

gr8 gr8 gr8, we all must send this video link to all hosts, so they also must know that they r busted busted busted busted.

  12. imfase says:

thanks! btw: now 49,600,000 results on google for “hosting reviews”

  13. tritongre says:

    I agree.
1 Inmotion has a fake support forum where your posts never published if the question uncovers problems
    2. They don’t give you direct access to your WhoIs info.
    3. their Joomla! script in Fantastico produces MySQL db with wrong collation

  14. llwyth says:

    Hmm.
Affiliate links don’t seem sinister to me. They’re providing traffic to these sites, they should get a kickback.

The ones with the pre-paid placement seem much more scammy. I’m looking for a free host , but there’s too much junk out there, was hoping this would clear it up some, but it doesn’t much. I already suspected paid placement.

Oh, and re:web design, if you can write an ebay ad, you can make a web page. Don’t get scammed into paying for it.

  15. 1stSafeHosting says:

You should always read the ToS and Policy before buying anything .

  16. goldduo says:

biggest scammer – talking about hosting company – is Inmotion Hosting. We paid them $500 for 1 year of service. 1/2 year later when their server cannot handle our site, they send a “final notice”. We canceled their service, and they keep the money – NO REFUND! this is the worst web hosting company we have used. They actually get paid for their incompetence. WOW!

  17. Nebelhex says:

I’ve been trying to find a new host for a long time but the net is so flooded with those sites and hosts in general trying to hustle you. (For example, was just reading JustHost’s terms saw the “guaranteed” refund if service sucks, will cost $20!)

  18. AreYuniScared says:

Great idea, people are so cheap. Great way to expose. Morality all the way, at least be more unique in the way reviews are done. It’s getting old, and as mentioned in this video, all about money. Mission ComPleted

  19. pzmtuthcvpvl says:

Sad truth of the matter is that this is, for the most part, likely to continue. 00.00.00.00 ( IPv4) is a loony circus of spoofing but no one is likely to move forward. This person’s work is remarkable and commendable but even though Comcast put up a free-help for transition to IPv6 ( much, much stronger and spoof-proof ) no one, including the majors ( who should have the technical talent ) has even bothered to obtain an IPv6 – let alone move away from IPv4

  20. dfreysinger says:

Don’t confuse webhosting with web design. Many web hosts provide easy install software with their package, but if you want a store, you need a web designer or plenty of time to learn it yourself.

Think of a web host as a landlord. The landlord isn’t going to design and furnish your house for you, and the web host is not going to design and furnish your website for you.

  21. Captnuendo says:

me too brother!!! they need to let the small fish eat!!!!! I am based in nyc u?

  22. Captnuendo says:

I made my own hosting company and work local… Screw you hosting companies killing the little man…
stop doing unlimited hosting.. PPL DONT NEED UNLIMITED.. let the small fish eat!!! ahem justhost, host gator/ i hate u lol

  23. funkboybilly says:

Great video, so true. Begs the question why aren’t there any community based host review sites where the best hosts are calculated by democratic user-review?

  24. phanumasphotography says:

Thank you, I’ve just fallen fowl from a recommendation in hostgeeks amongst many others. Just assigned a new hoster as a result of their ‘independent ranking’
So be warned, InMotion don’t have great support or a great service but they do have a great SMM team posting how wonderful they are!

  25. raenk says:

Unlimited resources or big amount of resources for ridiculous prices are symptoms of overselling and overloading. Which means you will NOT get anything unlimited and your website(s) will end up in an overloaded server with another 2 thousands clients fighting for the server resources provoking server crashes and unstability.

    Better search for virtualsplits
